Braslav Lakes

Braslav lakes are a group of lakes in the northern part of Belarus which are situated in Vitebsk region near Belarusian-Latvian border.

Braslav lakes include more than 50 water bodies which occupy the area of about 130 square km and mainly thanks to them Belarus is called “Blue-eyed”. 

A lot of animals live in this region, among them are such as: elk, wild boar, roe deer, hare, fox, wolf, marten, otter, beaver, etc.

Also animals which are listed into the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus such as lynx or brown bear inhabit this territory. A lot of fishes -perch, bream, pike, carp, bream, perch, etc. inhabit the lakes.

Drivyaty, Snudy, Strusto are the largest of Braslav Lakes.
